After having squeaked past the first round of competition at filmaka.com with our film After Hours, we were given a bit of money and instructions to make another film, once again in one month, with the same theme of "Extra Curricular Activities at Work".
This time Kevin and I had a meeting where we brainstormed out an idea. Kevin initially proposed doing some sort of office olympic games. Thinking that a competition theme would work well, but musing about more direct and violent forms of head-to-head conflict, I suggested we should try having a duel at the office, complete with one disgruntled employee swatting an offending co-worker in the face with a glove. Kevin's wife Laura had the crowning idea of having the two joust instead of just fencing.
Only the top three films would advance out of the second round to be able to compete with the best three from all the other months of 2007. Our film took second place, so forward we went.
