  • Hope Humanitarian – Helping the Rohingya in Bangladesh

I edited together this video from clips created by an adventurous videographer named Justin Nixon, and pictures by a globe-trotting photographic master named Steven Wood. It was used as part of a fundraiser for a non-profit called Hope Humanitarian, and what was then an upcoming expedition to help refugees in Bangladesh.

  • Fund Duel: Putting the Fun Back in Fundraising

This is the full version of a commercial I made for a new fundraising website called Fund Duel (fundduel.com). I was given the stipulation that we wanted to use a pair of honest to goodness Sumo wrestlers in the video, given that our CEO had met someone from USA Sumo and formed a relationship. I… Read more »

  • Fund Duel: Putting the Fun Back in Fundraising (1 min)

This is the one-minute version of a commercial I made for a new fundraising website called Fund Duel (fundduel.com). I was given the stipulation that we wanted to use a pair of honest to goodness Sumo wrestlers in the video, given that our CEO had met someone from USA Sumo and formed a relationship. I… Read more »

  • Wave – Spring Break

Episode 5 of Ian Skorodin’s web series Wave, starring Noah Watts, Dana Hunt, Kristen Pickrell, Amanda Greig, Matthew Stumphy and Keith Saltojanes. From skinsplex.com

  • The Mouse Before Christmas

Mike Hammari found this delightful little children’s book by Michael Garland and decided it would make a lovely video for our Christmas Barrel YouTube channel. He had me do the reading, and handled all the motion graphics himself, though the illustrations themselves are from the book.

  • Jeremey Lappert – Hark the Herald Angels Sing

For this Christmas Barrel video, we took a stab at entering the world of 360° virtual reality. We shot using my Sony FS700 and Odyssey 7Q at 4K. We had to attach a special parabolic mirror to the front of the lens that was made by a company called EyeSee360 called a “360 One VR.”… Read more »

  • Gary, Ted & Bob Meet Santa

This was my favorite film from the 2015 season of Christmas Barrel. We had a very limited crew on this one, and were lucky that friends let us shoot late into the night in their living room. We shot on my Sony FS700 with my Odyssey 7Q, and lit with my LED fresnels. The moving… Read more »

  • Feast of St. Thomas Uncovered

This is one of my favorite Christmas Barrel movies. It’s the second of our “On Point with Todd Zestermann” episodes, and it deals with a traditional European holiday that falls into the Christmas season. We shot on my Sony FS700 at multiple locations and with substantially more cast than our productions usually involve.

  • And They Were Sore Afraid

We shot part of this ridiculous Christmas Barrel sketch out in some desert/wilderness our director Mike Hammari was familiar with, and the other part on a theatrical stage inside of a church (perhaps rather fittingly) in front of a blue screen. I nearly wasn’t able to find the outdoor location in the middle of the… Read more »

  • The Week So Far – Milestones, Sermons, Duckzilla, and Jefferson

I play former President Thomas Jefferson, reading contemporary news bites. Part of a series called “The Week So Far” created by Mike Hammari for a relatively defunct YouTube channel called Right Stuff Daily. Episode Guide Episode 1 Ulysses S. Grant Episode 2 Thomas Jefferson Episode 3 George Washington Episode 4 Ulysses S. Grant Episode 5… Read more »

  • The Week So Far – Jefferson, Vegetarians, Budgets, & Pokemon

I play former President Thomas Jefferson, reading contemporary news bites. Part of a series called “The Week So Far” created by Mike Hammari for a relatively defunct YouTube channel called Right Stuff Daily. This episode contains my favorite line from the series: “What did you buy?” Episode Guide Episode 1 Ulysses S. Grant Episode 2… Read more »

  • Merry

This Christmas Barrel music video was an attempt at a parody of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy”, where we didn’t even bother rewriting the song. I wish we had had a camera with far more substantial dynamic range than my poor Canon 7D. I foolishly advised our director of photography that in the real music video, everything… Read more »

  • The Confrontation

We shot this little Christmas Barrel sketch hand held on my Canon 7D. Nice job by actress Taryn Hough to carry the thing by herself for most of the time. Some of our longer lasting relationships started with this sketch. We first met actors Jeremiah Benjamin and Kurtis Anton on this show. If you look… Read more »

  • A Dramatic Reading of Christmas Carols

This Christmas Barrel sketch gave me a turn in front of the camera, where I tried to be as creepy as possible.

  • Phones Off

This video was made for the 2013 Los Angeles Young Single Adult Film Festival, but was not intended to be entered into the competition. I was in fact meant as something of a public service announcement before things got started to ask people to silence their phones and refrain from talking. But of course, because… Read more »

  • The Many Adventures of Roger’s Genuine Corinthian Leather Wallet

This was my senior project back in film school. It was mostly the brainchild of its director, Brandon Sawyer, but it was nice of him to let me tag along for the ride.
